The St. Thomas More Society will host the annual Red Mass and Awards Luncheon on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Join lawyers, clergy, judges, and other members of the legal community in celebrating a new judicial year with this very special event.

Due to renovations at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, this year the Red Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the King at 2699 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30305. Mass will start at 10:00 am (one hour earlier than usual).  This very special Mass features a judicial procession, spectacular music, and a special dedication to spiritual inspiration for lawyers and Judges.

The Awards Luncheon will be held at its usual location at the Downtown Capital City Club at 7 John Portman Boulevard starting at noon. This year we are excited to present the St. Thomas More Award to the following:

  • The Honorable Nathan Deal, former Governor of the State of Georgia, for his remarkable achievements in criminal justice reform as Governor.
  • The Honorable Steven D. Grimberg, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, for his foundational role in Georgia's first federal accountability court.
  • Tye Darland, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Georgia-Pacific, for his ongoing work promoting employment and training for the formerly incarcerated.

Members of the Society who are current on their dues can attend the event for free. The cost for all other attendees is $50.
